Going through some old stuff yesterday, I came across a box of my grandfather's crayons. I forgot I had these.
He wrote his name on the box and on each crayon.
"Vernon."
It looks like red was his favorite color.
How strange that they are still here-something that seems pretty ephemeral--a crayon...and he is not.
Also found this book of Japanese "self- blending" watercolors.

I love how your grandfather wrote his name on every crayon. How sweet.
I love looking through little things of my grandfather's that I have kept. They all say something about the person that he was and I feel a connection with him when I look at and handle them.
I like that deep blue/green fabric in the 5th photo. It looks peaceful, almost like the ripples created by a water droplet.

It must be moving to hold your grandfathers crayons in your hand. They're so worn and little...amazing they lasted so long (love).
