More of our home grown fava's- this time made into a pesto of sorts (looks like guacamole!) with basil, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper.
Below: Pretty much my ideal breakfast- poached egg on toast, avocado with olive oil on toast, fresh berries & stovetop espresso with milk & sugar
Getting ready: ERMIE tags back from the printer just waiting for me to cut them.
I also ordered a bunch of stuff from Hiki, like these paper clips (below), to slip into people's ERMIE orders as a special little extra surprise.

The incredible vest that I purchased from Platform. I might not ever wear it...just study it for inspiration. The embroidery is so wonderful. I love vintage textiles. I like to think about
who made them, what that person's life was like, imagine what other objects they might have created. I feel a sense of wonder when I think about how a textile from the other side of the world and another time came into my possession.
So: Leaving you this random post to look at for a while. I need a break from the computer. Sometimes it makes me feel a little worn out, crazy & negative, all of this blogging and technology. I wonder if other people experience this?
I need to walk, do some yoga, be in the sun, read some books, have some adventures. Before I start writing boring, super-confessional, venting posts. Yikes!
Also: The ERMIE spring/summer photoshoot is happening next week! Which means, the new items should be in the shop by the end of May. I'll let you know the exact date & time of the shop update here on this blog when it's time.
See you soon,
xo

Below: Matters of Space, and some additional sights from York Blvd.

Good things are afoot on York Blvd in Highland Park!
In the past 6 months or so- several great new business have opened up on this busy little strip in our 'hood (Possession Vintage, Wombleton Records just to name a couple).
Today we discovered a couple more! Tomory & I were out running errands and on our way to Schodorf's Lunchonette (another business new to the neighborhood...I recommend the Turkey Pressed Sandwich on the ciabatta bread) to pick up a quick lunch, when we happened upon
Platform and Matters of Space.
Platform, as described on it's website, is a "Multi-purpose concept space offering an art gallery, retail environment, and a trend library. A "platform" to share everything we love, create and are inspired by."
I briefly met the owners Alex Cole and Sarah Brady- who were warm and welcoming.
They've created a lovely little shop with new and vintage textiles, clothing, art, & home furnishings. I took home a beautiful white embroidered Mexican blouse, and a stunning embroidered Nepalese vest. I can already tell I'll be spending a lot of time here- I can't wait to go back and check out the trend library.
Matters of Space is a studio specializing in interior architecture & design. The studio also has gallery and retail space located within. I spied some beautiful furniture, ceramics, and hand- made jewelry there. Katerina, one of the owners was manning the shop when we stopped by and was also extremely friendly and helpful. She mentioned that they would be having a sale soon- I definitely look forward to returning here as well.
York Blvd. has been a hub for small businesses, galleries, and restaurants & bars for some time now, but it's nice to see it re-invigorated by these latest additions. It's not easy to open a new business in these economically challenging times, and I wish these new neighbors the best of luck!

Clockwise, from upper left: ERMIE Bokeh Print Tank in cotton lawn with the Short Skirt in Penguin Tears in organic cotton sateen; Shibori Print Knit Tank in organic cotton with the Penguin Tears Short Skirt again; Bokeh Tank shown with the Short Skirt in the Ave. 51 Print in organic cotton sateen; and The Shibori Knit Tank with the Ave. 51 Print Short Skirt.
Yes, like the Magic Marker Print, the Bokeh Print will be back for this spring/summer! This time in the form of a simple, airy, tank that pulls on, no closures, and is unlined.
Also: I've had so many emails from people over the last few days asking about last fall/winter's shift dresses- I'm considering making them available again for this spring/summer. What do you think?
