Mudpuppy Bud Vases

I've posted about Michael McDowell's work before. His ceramics line, Mudpuppy, is so great. Michael is always coming up with new ideas. When I was recently poking around Etsy for wedding decorations, I took a peek at what Michael was up to and came across these bud vases. Simple, organic in form, made by hand.
I plan to use them on the tables at dinner- and then folks can take them home if they want!
Oh, and I just had to take pictures of the flowers I used...they were just so pretty in the sun, sitting on the kitchen counter.

La Tia

Today Tomory and I went to get our marriage license. Conveniently across the street from the county office was La Tia- a very good Mexican restaurant the specializes in mole. I had the Gambas al Cafe (mole) and Tomory had the Quail in Black Mole. Each entree came with a nice vibrant bowl of cream of spinach soup, and we both ordered horchata ( the best ever) to drink. Served with hot, thick, handmade corn tortillas. My rice that came with the shrimp had thin slices of honeydew melon on top- delicious! Our waiter was so sweet and brought us a small bowl filled with hot water and sliced limes to clean our gunky mole hands at the end of the meal. Highly recommended if you are in L.A.
Thank goodness we had such a hearty meal, because then we had to go wait in line for about 2.5 hours to get our marriage license.

Japanese Pants by Le Bouton

Ok. The Japanese Pants by Le Bouton. I've worn these the past 2 days if that is any indication of how much I like them! I had Lisa make these in a lightweight dark charcoal grey (almost black, really) herringbone linen. And it has been HOT here in L.A. the past few days, and these pants feel really comfortable. The design is pretty ingenious actually- you can wear the tie in the front or the back. These pants just may have broken my habit of wearing jeans all the time!
Oh, and the striped top is also Lisa's design. It's called the Marseille Moins Top. 100% silk.
$50.00. Handmade. What a bargain!

Le Bouton Linen Dress II

I received my Le Bouton Linen Dress in the mail today. I love it. It actually reminds me (in a really good way) of the way I dressed in high school. A lot of black, cut loose from the body. I'm going to take this dress with me to Paris!
Photos of the Japanese Pants to follow. Thank- you Lisa!

We eat quite a bit of Mexican food, living in Los Angeles. We have some really great neighborhood spots. One of them is My Taco. Very friendly folks. Colorful interior...and delicious Carnitas, Potato Tacos, and Barbacoa.
We stopped by yesterday for a quick dinner after attending our friend Adam's art opening (Congratulations, Adam!).

Flowers of one kind, and Another. Daffodils. And close- up shots of my new Mociun Tee.
If you look closely you can see water droplets on the t-shirt. A result of just having done the dishes. I always make a mess when I do the dishes.
