OK.
So, I'm pretty lousy about this taking a break from the blog thing, but I made this dress today and wanted to show you!
I have to go to this event tonight with Tomory, and I am trying to be better about sharing what I do with people.
The last two weekends I wore this dress out to Carlee's opening and to a friend's BBQ respectively.
In the past, when we go to social events, I reach for Mociun, Lina Rennell, or Rachel Comey to wear. Sometimes it comes up in conversation that I am designing textiles. Then people ask me if I designed the dress I am wearing, and I have to tell them "No, it's by...(Mociun, Ms. Rennell, RC...etc)"

Now I can say YES! I made this!

At least partially...in this case...the fabric is my design-the Organic Cotton Sateen "Fire Season" Print (GREAT fabric to sew with) and the dress design is attempt # 3 at Jenny Gordy's Wiksten pattern.

Alright, now I am really going! Have a great weekend!

Angelina, thank-you! Don't worry... I'm still completely in love with your designs. Trying to decide which one I want to invest in for fall!

The event I wore the dress to was an art related event for the Huffington Post... People were in full on fall mode there- a sea of black! So my dress really stood out. To me, the color of this dress says autumn to me... Like leaves turning colors... All of the prints I designed for fall may seem really bright at first... But they all contain a fair dose of earth tones and neutral colors, too.

Jenny,
Your dress design is simple ( not easy to do) and brilliant... Perfect for the patterned fabrics I enjoy working with. I love it. As I was making the dress yesterday, I kept thinking how much I loved working with your pattern. Awaiting the Tova pattern!

Wowzers! You are really good at this. It looks wonderful on you. Can I just say, you inspire me to wear bolder clothing. Here in Atlanta, it is pretty prim and proper, and sometimes a "bold" dress has miniature poodles all over it, and a rich old lady is wearing it...so you know, I get shy.
