Tomory and I came home from Paris to a surprise- there is a momma kitty with a litter of four kittens (two pictured above- there is also a little grey one with white feet and a cream colored kitten) living under our porch!
The mother is a feral Siamese mix that lives in our neighborhood. I knew that she was pregnant and had given birth to her litter somewhere before we left on our honeymoon, but while we were away she took the opportunity to move herself and her brood into a quiet spot under our front stairs. The kittens all appear to have an eye- infection of some kind. The nurse in me wants to intervene, but so far I have restrained myself and I am just providing them with a fresh water supply. It will be interesting to see if the mother keeps them under our house or moves the litter...

awwwww cute!!
Oh my......that is such a sweet coming home welcome! Hope they all get well.
Have a great weekend, Jeannette
PS Just checked your Flickr photos of Paris. Love your hotel view.
cutecutecute!
They so are sweet...
Here's the name of a no-kill animal shelter in LA that probably could help trap the kittens for adoption, and also trap/and release the mother after she's spayed (to prevent more litters and homeless kitties).

If you need more info just email me. Good luck...xo, J.
Thanks Janis...I was hoping that someone would suggest such an organization. Although it's looking as if she may have moved the litter today...
woow, they are so adorable!
I am so glad you didn't mind me suggesting this... animal welfare is something close to my heart :)
ps. I just found one no-kill shelter by googling, I am sure there are others in LA if this one doesn't help you...xo
oh, that is so sweet! pls do update!
there's a wild cat that had kittens just under our front porch too. but only one of three is left now. the mom ate the others! seriously! one was sick one morning and while D and i discussed whether to intervene or not it disappeared. later that day i saw her eating it!! it was absolutely shocking! it freaked me out, but i later calmed down and settled after reading up on it and understanding it's about instinct and a natural behavior when a kitten is sick/dead. but yikes, my god....it was awful...
don't know if the mom is to blame for the other kitten that disappeared. the last one seems pretty fit and big by now. so i hope he's safe.
sorry, that was a long one. it has been waiting to get out ;)
