Above & Below: ERMIE Ave. 51 Print in Cotton Lawn.
New ERMIE Blouse style for SP 2011. Based on a traditional Huipil style.
I plan to offer this in the Avenue 51 Print, The Bead Print and theUroko Gata Print in silks or cotton lawn. There will probably be a dress version too, lined & with pockets (of course)! Is there anything you would like to see for Spring or Summer? Sundresses? Big silk and cotton scarves? Home goods- pillows? Tea towels?
1930's Navajo Silver and Turquoise Thunderbird Ring - a gift from Madeleine for Christmas. I love it so. Not just because it's perfect and Madeleine gave it to me, but because it also comes from the personal collection of a family friend who collects silver and textiles who I hope to do a proper post about some day soon.
Found these additional landscape snapshots from our Christmas train trip. I'm not sure if they are my snapshots or Tomory's! I thought they went well with the ring.
Hills as seen from my home yesterday & today. My little cold is still hanging on. * All about Kendra Smith, Opal, and Dream Syndicate right now, and a little My Drug Hell for good measure.
Part of the Nativity from David & Madeleine's (my in-laws).
T. on the Southwest Chief.
Above, below- New Mexico.
Breakfast at Watercourse in Denver.
Below: Raton, NM.
Above: Boulder, CO. Pictured-Tomory, Alex, John (brothers -in- law) and Cecile (John's girlfriend). Satoko (Alex's girlfriend) was walking next to me as I snapped this.
A bit belated, but I've had a cold for the past few days (sorry if I owe you and email- I'll get back to you very soon- promise)!
2010 was such a surprising year- curious to see what 2011 holds. Above are a few favorite photos from the end of 2010! A few I already posted on Tumblr, but I like them so much I'm posting them again.
My resolutions for 2011: Have fun! Worry Less. Eat better, exercise more, lose 10 lbs (boring but true- I guess I did indulge too much inthis and this ;) Read more books, spend less time online, spend more time working on the yard and house. Keep an open mind.
Camille De Soto, my friend & the proprietress of Lady, took this image of the ERMIE Silk Mini-Dresses for sale in her shop. They would all look great worn with heels & accessorized with a glass of bubbly for New Years Eve!
My compadre Cheryl, conducted an interview with me, for Christine Haynes' Blog. Christine teaches sewing at the Urban Craft Center, and wrote Chic & Simple Sewing- a great book for beginner to intermediate seams-persons that features some very cute projects. Thank-you Cheryl and Christine!
Lastly, theshop is open again, and I've placed select items on sale, including some yardage!
Just got back into L.A. early this morning by way of Union Station--A few photos of the train trip we took out to Denver for Christmas. There are more photos buried in my Tumblrfeed.
I enjoy landscape photography. I find people more difficult to capture.
I need a new digital camera, but in the meantime I have been enjoying my iPhone in it's place. I think it actually takes really great photos- reminiscent of a Lomo or Holga. More to follow recapping Christmas and sharing some ERMIE news, but now it's time for a nap!
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday, and are as excited about 2011 as I am!
