I finished the Anna Maria Horner Smashing Smock today. I'm very pleased with how it turned out- especially since it's the first garment I've ever made.

More books and Last Chance
Book #1 : Eco Weaving: shows you how to weave projects from recycled fabric...scraps from sewing projects, from old clothing you don't wear any more. Great diagrams and cute little illustrations throughout.
Book # 2: Handmade Bookmaking by Yo Yamazaki.
Beautiful book- and like the Mina catalog- I wish I could show you every picture. if you are interested in the book arts- this is a great book.
Above: For all of you who live in the Los Angeles area, Tomory's show closes at ACME on 3/14/09...last chance to view his wonderful paintings locally for awhile.

Mina Perhonen Spring/ Summer 2009
Received my Mina Perhonen catalog in the mail the other day. Every page is beautiful. I really appreciate how the design of each season's catalog is different. This one came in a brown glassine wrapper. The catalog uses "real people" instead of professional models. Some of my favorite photos are of an elderly couple, who appear to be the parents of some of the other individuals photographed in the catalog. Yu-i serendiptously posted about the same catalog today!

Cut out the majority of the pieces for the "I'll Have One of Everything" bag.
I really hope to finish my blouse today.
The fabrics above I printed with My Gocco. Some of the fabric is from Leslie's store- she is having a SALE right now!
Blog that I'm obsessed with at the moment: Le Bouton.

under the house
I've been meaning to post about this for a while. When we moved into our house 2 years ago- we found all of these paper icons, and a Last Supper plaque- under our house in a little storage area. I'm not a religious person per se- but it makes me feel secure for some reason- having these under our home.

The yoke is done for the "Smashing Smock." I'm surprised with how well it turned out...and it wasn't that hard. Now for the rest of the body, which I hope to finish today. I even made the button out of one of those little fabric covered button making kits. Does any one know where you can purchase additional 5/8" buttons (without the tool). Or kits for larger fabric covered buttons?
I'm already planning my next project. The "I'll Have One of Everything Bag." With my own Gocco printed fabric.
After shooting the last photo (directly above) I knocked my tea over with my foot. It went every where. One thing about me dear friends and readers: I am a massive klutz!
