Corner View: Place of Reflection

The California Desert. Hands down. I love it out there. It is a very spiritual place for me...one reason why I chose to marry there. All photos above taken in and around the Joshua Tree National Monument. All photographs by my lovely friends S. Curley and A. Rossino. Click here for more Places of Reflection.

oh, yes, the dessert. exact opposite from the sea, which is my chosen spot for reflection, but somehow they have the same ability to make us think a bit deeper. it must be the endlessness, the great horizon and the feeling of being a tiny piece of the big puzzle :) i'd go for the dessert if i had it a bit closer.

great photos!

It does look peaceful and still... I have never visited Joshua Tree Forest before, and I really must explore it someday. It's nice you found your meditative place ... xoxo

So cool. And I loved that you got married there. I love how everyone has a different place to reflect, but we are all doing the same thing. Great post!

Bonnie-
the light is a rare optical phenomenon called a circumhorizontal arc aka a fire rainbow. The sun has to be very high in the sky, there has to be cirrus clouds present, and it can only occur at certain latitudes.

My friends Sean and Amber, who as I mentioned in the post, took these amazing photos. They were guests at our wedding, and I believe they took these in Joshua Tree park the day Tomory arrived in the desert.
The funny thing is the fire rainbow really resembles a few of Tomory's paintings.
