Time flies! This coming Saturday, this little old blog turns 3 years old!

A lot has changed in my life since I started this blog in 2008. I got married, changed careers, met amazing people I never would have otherwise. I've definitely learned how to take better photographs! I never imagined I'd be doing what I'm doing now, when I posted my first post. I find it remarkable that things that I have created, have made their way to Australia, Great Britain, Germany, Singapore! All because of this blog.

I'm not the best writer, or the best at responding to all of your wonderful comments for that matter, but I just wanted to take the time to thank you for reading & visiting this blog. Thank you for participating in this process, and for your support. I do appreciate it. So much.

To celebrate: I'm giving away a Chiffon Scarf from the upcoming ERMIE collection.
It comes in 3 different prints/colorways, as pictured above. 36 x 72." (a $175 value!)
Just leave a comment under this post: you could tell me your best possible scenario for yourself in 3 years, or just say hello :) ...whatever you'd like to say.

You have until 11/2/11 Midnight PST to enter. I'll draw the name of 1 person at random on 11/3/11. You choose which scarf you'd like. I'll ship it anywhere in the world free of charge!

Good luck, and here's to the next 3 years!

Wow, what a lovely giveaway! In 3 years....My new(ish) babe will be in preschool (!!!!) and I might have some time to finally paint again. Best case, I'd be enjoying my family and loving my work.

Congratulations on your blog and your new career and thank you for being an inspiration!

Egads. I love your work. A scarf would be a dream. I try not answer "where I will be..." questions b/c I fear will miss the here and now, but I do hope to solidify a new job that I love. xx

congrats on your 3 year journey. seems like you've come far. i'd love to design clothing and it has been something in the back of my head for a long time. for now, i'm just sewing and doing what i can as i have a 2 year old that needs most of my time. in the meantime, she sure is getting some cute dresses out of it. you're an inspiration to the ones who would like to start a design project. thanks. oh and i live in l.a., too. so if i win a scarf, shipping would be relatively free. wishing on candles...

3 years already!! here's hoping i'll be gainfully employed on the West Coast and able to travel to near and far off places. your decision to change careers has always been so inspiring to someone like me, who has been on the same track since high school!

you had some big changes during 3 years. for me, in 3 years, all 3 of my kids will be driving so of course i'd rather not think about it. i hope my life involves more focused writing, and i am open to whatever else...perhaps our house will be finished in the "liveable" sense? (LOL! my word verification below is "proph" as in prophecy)

Congrats to you - I take so much inspiration from this space, I feel like I should be sending you something! In three years? Oi. Life is too rich right now to wish on more than small desires for more sleep, more time to play music, more time in my garden...I guess I wish for a greater sense that I am always spending my time well. Thanks for asking, I really had to think about it!

3 years sounds both long & short! My daughter will be 6 [!!] and in 1st grade- hopefully I will still in be in the field of nonprofit arts and have the time to develop & launch a creative business.

Three years! Congratulations! And thank you for this lovely little giveaway. I'm a huge fan of the Yarn Print in the Big Sur colourway.

I'm very pleased to have been one of those international recipients of more than one of your special little packages during those 3 years.

That is a lot to have changed over three years. I don't think I could identify so many tangible changes in my life over the past three years but internally I am a very different person. In the next three years I would like to move from a period of quiet and healing to one of abundant joy and energy. I know I am on my way there!

I think that one of the (usually great but sometimes scarey) things about having a blog is getting to look back and read the story of your life over that time.

I bet your Aunt Ermie is proud of you for following your heart and pleased that she is the inspiration for your blog and new direction in life. It sounds like she was a women who followed her heart.

I think the best possible situation in three years for me would be that I will be (almost) done with college and will know for the most part what I want to do with my life!

In three years I hope to quit my current job and have started my own business and be my own boss! Yeah! Tired of this rat race and working with lazy people. And my littlest one would be 3 and the little one would be 6 and both happy and healthy.

Such a lovely giveaway! I am really digging the Spectrum print in Venice.

Your blog has been a source of inspiration for me. Changing careers takes guts and gumption! It's totally awesome that so many good things came out of your blog.

In 3 years? Eeek! I hope in 3 years to still be working as a human rights lawyer but from a more comfortable country where I can have pretty items shipped and find rubber spatulas and the like for baking - the UK, Europe, or even Bangkok. I hope to still be able to travel (probably won't be able to do it as much as I have this year -crazy Cambo holidays!) and to be able to share my experiences with someone I love.

Happy 3 years!!! I'm so happy for you! In 3 years I would love to have started a family (I just got married this month) and being doing more creative things in my life-- wether through work or just in my free time. I would also love to save some money to use for travel :) Okay, those things sound really boring, but I'm sticking to them!

After Wikstenmade.blogspot mentioned your blog, I read the whole of it in a matter of days (at work!)- couldn't get enough honestly. Your writing is honest and has soul. Your photographs of your life and light are spectacular.

In three years I'd love to be more successful in terms of self-awareness and creativity. I'd love for my clothes, house, career, and relationships to match.

Have a great weekend!

Jennifer,
I am really glad that you have kept blogging since it has been so wonderful to watch your path in life unfold. It’s fabulous that you have had the chance to pursue fashion and I think that you are doing great at it! Much love, Mae

What a long road it's been, Jen... I remember back when you had moved to nursing in a private practice after working in a hospital (if my memory serves me right), and then when you took the plunge into full-time design... And I know that all of us (your fans and followers) are so thankful that you did! From the start, Ermie has been so well-designed and has just gotten more and more amazing with each new collection you've created.

If I can dream, in three years I'd love to have some success with my {gemmifer} handmade designs and be at a day job that I enjoy... possibly have a man in my life, too! ;)

Congratulations to you on three wonderful years--here's to many, many more to come!

Wow! This would be amazing!!! In three years I would love to have a handmade business that was successful (in my terms), my girls would continue to be my best friends and enjoy a life that they love, my husband and I would be happy and financially stable. That would be great! Congratulations on 3 years of blogging. I've been with you most of the way, I think! Inspired by your nursing and craft- since I too was a nurse who spent my student days in the art dept as much as possible!

Congrats on the 3 years! In 3 years, my daughter will almost be 5 and probably in kindergarten. I hope that I'm sewing, knitting and making stuff, and teaching the little nut what I know. But whatever it is that I'm doing down the road, it will be awesome because I'll be doing it with my sweet little girl and my great husband in tow.
