Above: Holiday fabric that I designed and printed with stencils and my Gocco. I's a little bit early to think about the holidays...I swear I am usually a procrastinator.
Below: also more examples of my textile design. Also printed using my Gocco.

The lone pomegranate from our little tree.

A variety of peppers from our garden. They and the tomatillos are about the only things that grew in our garden this year.
Happy Halloween everyone and thank- you for the wonderful comments so far!
Tomory took the camera to studio today, so this will have to do for now. I might be able to squeeze in some other posts later.

Today was also a good mail day. I received a package from Leslie Good. Beautiful Japanese linen and corduroy...with some goodies thrown in (thanks Leslie !).

And some Harwood Steiger vintage fabric from Ebay. Harwood Steiger hand screen printed fabrics out of his Tubac, AZ studio- unfortunately now closed. Someone needs to write a book about this man! I plan to post more about him as well as images of some of his textile designs.

Detail of Harwood Steiger's "Cactus" fabric.

Succulents on our front porch. Taken at about 0800. I thought I had to work but then I got canceled again :) Spent the day with Tomory in the studio, knitting while he painted.

A detail of some bags I made. The bag in front is made with fabric of my own design. The darker bag in back is made with fabric by designer Hinemosu Notari.
This is my Aunt Ermie. She was amazing. World traveler. She loved art. She encouraged me to go to art school, and she is probably the reason why I also became a nurse. I miss her. This blog is named for her.

Just received my copy of A Year of Mornings: 3191 Miles Apart by Maria Alexandra Vettese and Stephanie Congdon Barnes. Buy this book. You won't be sorry. It reminds you of how quiet and beautiful life can be. It pales in comparison, but this is my photo inspired by their work. Taken at about 9 am Pacific time. Let's see if I can post a photo a day for 1 year.
