Some images of the Avenue 51 Print I designed for ERMIE Spring 2011. Shown above with the Magic Marker Print
Silk Scarf for F/W 2010.
The Avenue 51 Print is so named because it is made from a photograph I took of shadows on the sidewalk on Avenue 51 in Los Angeles. It is printed in 100% Cotton Lawn. I will also be trying it out in the 100% Silk Crepe de Chine that the Magic Marker Scarf is shown in above.
I will be selling the tunic and scarf at this upcoming sale locally.
The scarf will also be online for sale soon. I wanted to get the yardage up for the other fabrics this week, but I've been so busy trying to get things together for this sale, finalize the F/W collection...etc. etc. Hopefully this week (or the next) it will happen...all I can say is sorry, thank you for your patience and I'm trying to get things done as fast as I can :)
Does anyone else feel like they are being pulled in a million directions?
I love the tunic and both prints so much!! If that tunic sells before I can get there, will you promise to make one for me? :) (yet another direction to be pulled in. sorry.)
ReplyDeleteJen, you just blow me away every time with your talent! I really love the Avenue 51 print; it almost seems to have a subtle stripe to it which makes it even more fabulous. How do you like the silk from Spoonflower? I'm tempted to try it out for my amethyst print, but I wonder how it takes to darker colors. Did you hand-stitch the edges? Sadly I ordered my swatch book about a month before they started to offer silk, so I'll have to wait 'til I get a printed swatch to even find out how it feels :(
ReplyDeleteI just realized what the Avenue 51 pattern reminds me of most... a really gorgeous ikat!
ReplyDeleteThank-you!!
ReplyDeleteHey Cheryl, I promise :)
Jen,
I like the silk from Spoonflower. It is nice- dark colors take well to it, but order a swatch...because each fabric they use-- the print result is very different.
Love your Amethyst print the most, BTW.
And yes, it is intentional that this print resembles a Japanese Indigo Ikat Print (and it does have a subtle grey stripe running through it).
I love this print jennifer!
ReplyDeleteAnd I feel like you... too too too busy!

ReplyDeleteYou're killing me with gorgeousness!I'm loving seeing how your collection is developing; looks fantastic. Side note, every time I see those shoes I drool. Best heels ever.

ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, i think that navy print might be my new favorite (or at least the one i'd most likely wear - not that i wouldn't mind the others just to admire the heck out of!!). And the scarf!!!!
