Just back from a restorative mini- trip to the desert. We went to the Integratron & Giant Rock but mostly just hung around the hotel (the Ace...which was nicely, surprisingly quiet & empty...I'm guessing because our stay there took place during the week). More pics to come this week, but for now there are a few more on my Tumblr.
I hope you all had an enjoyable, restful weekend!
Oh, cool! You make it look magical. Joe and I are headed to Palm Springs in a week. Should we go see those places? We're renting a house with another couple but are getting massages at the Ace.
ReplyDeleteWhat a magical looking place. I just love that picture of you at Giant Rock on your tumblr.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear how the sound bath was.
i love these photos! I am so happy for you that you got to hang out in such amazing spots! energy and magic!!!
ReplyDeletewow, that looks like an amazing trip! and i spy a necklace to boot! :)
ReplyDeletei really hope you turn some of these pics into textiles, that second image with the palm trees is killer!!!!
Jenny: I would definitely recommend a sound bath at the Integratron. But unless you really have a burning desire to see Giant Rock (like I did), I'd skip it & just go to Joshua Tree National Park instead. I'll post more about both maybe today.
ReplyDeleteBel: Thanks :)Soundbath post: coming soon!
V: Thank you. I think that there really is something to the theories and stories about the energetic properties of these places.
Ilana: It was! And I love my new IK necklace! Still need to get a good pic of it though.
I was thinking the same thing about the 2nd palm image, so you never know ;)
I am curious if I saw you anywhere around town as I was there for the whole week and it was very quite in the desert. I love the Integratron and have been going there for years. There's a woman on the Eastside who also does sound baths if you ever want to keep it close. This whole week I'm blogging about the desert, so I recommend you check it out. Been to Salvation Mountain?
ReplyDeleteNatalie- will check out your posts.
ReplyDeleteYes-- We went to Salvation Mtn. Several years ago. It's incredible.
There's a post about it somewhere on this blog :)
Hmm. Soundbath on the Eastside sounds intriguing!
Xx
Oh man I love the Ace. So glad you had a nice quiet stay! That stained glass eye (all the stained glass pieces at the Ace, actually) are by my friend Steve Halterman. A lot of the art and design at the Ace was made by Joshua Tree artists!
