Perhaps my favorite Sgraffito in Zuoz? It is really impossible to choose--but this house reminded me so, so much of my friend Janis Anzalone and her beautiful work. Janis and I have never met in person, but one day I am confident we will. Janis' blog was one of the very first I stumbled upon when I started blogging in 2008. I still read it, and find beauty in each of her posts. If you aren't already- do yourself a favor and follow her blog.
The loveliest house I have seen in a while!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of sgraffito before. It's really lovely. Is it on every house like this?
ReplyDeleteBel,
ReplyDeleteNot every house...but many in the Upper Engadin region. Especially the old homes- although this home appears to be a newer structure, and the sgraffito fairly recent.
I just love how playful & colorful this particular home is.
I'll post more examples of sgraffito soon.
loving this house..... it's almost unreal...
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and modern take on a traditional house decoration! Gorgeous photos, too!
