I think I'm under the influence of my friend Amber, who is a shoe fiend (and I mean that in the best possible way, Amber!). I came across this new line, a branch of Cole Haan, Cole, Rood & Haan via the Oh, Joy! blog.
I love all of these shoes. I think there is something a little rock 'n' roll about them. A little Flying Burrito Bros. A little Gram Parsons (that's him, above, for those of you who don't know, in the pink pants, and above again in the white Nudie suit with the red cross...I think he was under the influence of his friend Keith Richards at the time, style-wise, and er, uh, otherwise. He's my dead rock star crush).
Check out Cole, Rood, & Haan's site. It's beautiful- gorgeous photography & styling- and be prepared to buy shoes.
Oh my, purple leather oxfords? I'm in! Have you seen Fallen Angel? It's a pretty good Gram Parsons documentary. I heart the Nudie suit.
ReplyDeleteSigned,
the shoe fiend
I totally love the purple leather oxfords, too. I think they might be my favorite. Might. So hard to decide.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we saw Fallen Angel when it first came out...I'm kind of jonesin' for a trip out to J.T.
I love the Nudie suit, too. I'd love to see Gram's suit in person one day. Nudie was the shit.

ReplyDeleteanyway, love gram parsons so much, almost enough to name my son after him. almost. sequined burritos? i'm in.
Erica: Sequined Burritos-yes!!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you were such a big fan of G.P. (I didn't know Leon was almost a Gram.I think Leon is a good choice for a name...)
Your Zizi's look really beautiful, but if they aren't comfortable, you probably won't wear them.
What did happen to Rood? Whoever started this new division of Cole Haan is really smart. Marketing genius. You & I and Amber...we are their target audience. Never paid much attention to Cole Haan shoes until now, dang it.
Very entertaining post - love this eyecandy with my monday morning coffee ... Though seriously, I can do without the 60's facial hair! :^)
ReplyDeleteOh my, those shoes are lovely, lovely. I actually really like those tan buckled boys shoes!
