Fava Bean Blossoms. Who knew they looked like that? I love their delicate cocoa colored stripes.

Above : More Fava Bean shots. Below: My yard is a jungle! Have I said that before?

Our box of mint. I see mint tea and Mojitos in our future.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread that I made yesterday.

Still working on my blouse...
this week it will be finished. Last night I had my first experience with making and sewing bias strips!

  1. I love these photos, makes me want to drop by for tea and talk gardening etc...! Are you growing fava beans to amend the soil?

  2. Janis,
You and your significant other are welcome to visit anytime! Seriously- if you ever want to come to visit L.A., we have an extra bedroom!

We are actually planting favas because we like the fresh beans. Do they amend the soil? I didn't know! Tomory is actually the one with the green thumb. He'll be excited by this information.

  3. That would be so much fun to visit LA again and meet you and Tomory! Thank you Jennifer for the offer xoxo. And YES, the fava bean plant is very good for the soil. Once you have harvested the plant, till it under. Gardeners plant fava sometimes just to amend the soil.

I have a question for you now... How can I get my hands on one of those MP catalogs? Since the company is in Japan I assumed they would not send it out to just anyone.
